A Sunday Break

On Sunday we allowed ourselves to enjoy the city a little. We experienced "The Diner" for the first time. That was a dangerous choice. It is American breakfast food with American coffee. It was delicious. Breakfast food is really the only thing I miss here, because Italians aren't too keen on breakfast.

Then on our way back home we ran into a huge protest trying to get the Prime Minister Berlusconi to resign from office. It was literally one street over from where we live and all the way to the arno. We also ran into one of our students, Elio.

The view from our window.

 Sweet, sweet Elio.

After participating in the protest, we then FINALLY went to the chocolate festival. It was dangerous

Sam and Sarah showing some love before Valentine's Day.

The chocolate festival has been going on for a week and yesterday was the last day it was open. We almost didn't make it.

So much chocolate. I think I went into a coma after I got home, because of course I ate all the chocolate I bought in one day.

Projects and Karaoke

On Saturday we had to finish our one-on-one projects. We invited over our lovely students, ate some chili and went to a karaoke bar. It was really fun!

Sarah and Sam are the queens of karaoke. Just look at those two.

Someday we might actually get up to sing.

This is what we be doing . . .

We only have one more week left of the course and this weekend is serious crunch time. Within this next week we have an intense one-on-one project due, a group project, a take home test, an in-class test and two lessons to teach. So . . . this is how Sarah and I deal with stressful times.

We also do things like this . . .

T-T-T- Torino

Torino was beautiful! It was a busy filled 24 hours, but well worth it. The night we got there we met Elizabeth, Leonardo and a couple that works at Avanti di Scuola at a restaurant where we had a 5 course meal. It was delicious. Everything I ate, I enjoyed! Then we went back to a really nice hotel where Sarah and I could both stand in the bathroom and turn around at the same time without touching. That was the first time we are able to do that since we have gotten to Italy. The next morning we got to see a Palace, the Basilica Superga, an amazing view of the city, a very busy piazza and the museum of cinema. It was very interesting and we both wished that we didn't have a paper due on Monday so that we could have stayed the entire weekend. Here are some highlights from the weekend!
